Besides having Vietnamese Coffee Drip, to produce the perfect brewing, you should have some other equipment ie Grinder, Digital Scale, and Thermometer.

Some of the equipment above is important for you to have because you must get the ideal size of the coffee ground, the right ratio between the coffee and the water and the perfect water temperature to be used in this method. To find out how to brew coffee using Vietnamese Coffee Drip, please follow the steps below:

Step 1
Prepare the coffee you want to brew. For the ratio of coffee that I normally use is 10 grams of coffee for every 60 ml of water. But you can customize it as I read some of barista using a ratio of 10 g: 140 ml.

Step 2

Furthermore grind the roasted coffee beans using a grinder. You should have the grinder that has a size regulator feature because the coarse ground is the ideal size in this method. But if you do not have a grinder with size regulator feature, grind coffee beans to the ground size as shown below:

Step 3

Then boil the water. As I said earlier, I am using 60 ml of water. As for the temperature, most baristas boil water until the water reaches a temperature of 92-95 ° C, but I prefer to boil water until it reaches a temperature of 95-100 ° C due to temperature will be possibly reduced during the brewing process takes place.

Step 4

Prepare the filter, you should always wash the filters before use it because the remnants of coffee powder or dust that is left in the filter will damage the coffee aroma.

Step 5

Then enter the coffee powder that has been grinded into the filter. But before entering the coffee grounds, open the plunger first. To be more easily, you should learn about the Vietnamese Coffee Drip as i explain above.

Step 7

After the coffee powder inserted into the Vietnamese Coffee Drip cup, then use a plunger to flatten the coffee powder. Then let the plunger remain in the filter to divide between the water chamber and coffee powder room.

Step 8

Then pour the hot water into the Vietnamese Coffee Drip cup. Start by pouring 20 ml of water beforehand. Then let stand for 20 seconds. This trick will make a good extraction between water and coffee.

Step 9

After waiting for 20 seconds, pour 40 ml of remaining water in the Vietnamese Coffee Drip cup then close it and wait for 2 minutes.

Step 10

After 2 minutes open the lid and see if the water has completely dropped or not. If within 2 minutes there still some water in the cup that means you have too fine ground coffee powder. So next time makes it a little more coarse ground coffee.

Step 11
After the water completely drop into the coffee cup under the filter, stir the coffee until blended perfectly with milk or honey. However, this step can be skipped if you do not use milk or honey.
